"I'm an Alfa" Different between An Alfa and Alu'fa
There's a growing concern about individuals falsely claiming to be 'Alfa' (Islamic scholars) without any legitimate connection to the faith. They use this title as a cover-up for their illicit activities, displaying excessive wealth, flaunting expensive gadgets, luxury cars, and flashy attire.
A disturbing trend is that the majority of these individuals are youth. They are often caught engaging in illicit activities, including performing juju rituals for fraudsters and participating in ritual killings.
A recent example is the case of an individual who was arrested for killing a girl and dismembering her body. During interrogation, when asked about his profession and source of income, his response was: 'I'm an Alfa.'
As Muslims, we know that having a legitimate source of income is essential. Even the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) was a merchant and trader before his prophethood. This emphasizes the importance of honest work and financial accountability.
We must condemn such actions and work towards exposing and bringing to justice those who misuse religious titles for nefarious purposes.
